Brandy has studied under numerous celebrity stylists such as Graham Nation, Lee Rittner, Phillip Wilson, Oscar Bond, Matt Swinney, Misha Belfer, Misael Aponte and Charlie Price. As well as certificates in Brazilian Blowout, Babe Extensions, Beauty Underground, GK Smoothing, Schwarzkopf Professional, Color Proof Envoy and Alfaparf Lisse, Meraki Handtied Extensions, Jz Styles, and will be starting a six month intensive course with the leading hair extension company in the industry, Natural Beaded Rows. --
Brandy is always looking for opportunities for herself and all of the stylists at Lush to grow in their craft and offer the most diverse amount of skill sets in the springs.
Ruthie, a Colorado Springs Native, has not only been at Lush the longest but has been Brandy’s right hand girl since 3rd grade. She started her career at the Phenix Salon Suites, where she fell in love with balayage, long styles, and hair extensions. Ruthie studied at the Salon Professional Academy of Colorado Springs in 2013. She has since furthered her education as an associate to Brandy, until 2017.
She specializes in blondes and handtied beaded rows. She has extensive education from Babe, Meraki, JZ Styles, 901 Academy, Heather Chapman and Oscar Bond. She is our numero uno for healthy hair habits. While she can get you whiter than rice, she won’t damage a single hair on your head getting there. We may tease her for her RBF (or child like height) but she’s nothing SHORT of sweetness.
When she’s not at Lush, she’s spending time with her daughter, son, and husband, who’s owner and lead barber at Final Cut Barbershop in south Colorado Springs.
Vanessa is a San Antonio, Texas native but decided to make Colorado Springs her home in September 2017. Vanessa studied philosophy at the University of North Texas and later became a certified yoga teacher, teaching in Austin, Tx. She started creating fiber art in 2011 and continues to pursue art whenever she isn’t hiking, thrifting, or hanging out with family. Vanessa began her dreadlock journey in 2013 after her grandfather passed away. She believes that dreadlocks are not only a way of wearing your hair, but also an emotional journey -- building patience, self love, and confidence. Vanessa created her own locs and soon after began dreading for anyone who inquired. She believes that locs are made with time, patience, and serious attention to detail.
