Q: WHY DID YOU CHOOSE HAIRSTYLING AS A CAREER?

A: Growing up with 3 older sisters, I gravitated towards all things beauty. At a young age, I found myself sifting through my moms makeup drawers, always finding a way to do my hair or makeup. Having an eye for things that looked good came easy for me. I loved styling my high school friends for homecoming and prom. Later to find myself graduating early from high school, I knew beauty school was my next step. Let’s say that opened a door of opportunities and I landed my dream job at Lush! I adore making people feel beautiful in their own skin. Nothing beats knowing that you’ve helped boost someone’s confidence.

Q: IF YOU WERE AN ANIMAL, WHAT ANIMAL WOULD YOU BE?

A: If I were an animal, I would be a lioness. Being attracted to the feline species since birth, cats are my favorite. I’d rather be the predator than the prey in this case and lions are rad.

Q: WHAT HAIR EDUCATION, IN THE PAST YEAR, DO YOU FEEL HAS FURTHERED YOUR ARTISTRY?

A: The hair and beauty industry is forever growing and changing trends and styles. Albert Einstein once said, “When you cease to learn, you cease to grow.” I believe the same applies to this career! Ongoing education has been my favorite part of my job. From traveling to Utah to learn from @Hairbymick and @Linsonhair, to Laguna beach training in NBR extensions. I’ve loved taking classes with @hairbykaitlynbrown and @mane_ivy. I’ve looked up to these stylists since the dawn of my career. With 2023 just starting, I’m looking forward to furthering my education by training 1 on 1 with @chrisweberhair.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU MOST GRATEFUL FOR WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?

A: Picking one thing that I’m most grateful for is fully impossible. As I try to practice gratitude every day, I find myself thanking God and the universe for my family, a roof over my head, a wonderful job, my beautiful clients, my health, and the list really goes on. I would not be the person I am without all that’s mentioned.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF HAIRSTYLING?

A: Choosing a favorite part of hairstyling does not come easy for me. I absolutely love every step and I believe each and every part of the process is just as important as the next. But…. If I absolutely had to choose, I would say blonding (foil work). I truly feel so artistic when I’m painting on foils and I love it.

Q: WHAT IS IT ABOUT HAIRSTYLING THAT BRINGS YOU JOY?

A: It’s not just hair, it’s a feeling.

There’s no other job in the world that gets to connect with women like I do, create and execute beautiful hair, form relationships, and build bonds like this industry does. To have someone trust me to do their hair, feels like an honor. And that is what brings me joy.
